About ELL
ELL was founded in 2013 and has been operational since 2014 – the first locomotive was delivered in June 2014 and leased out immediately. Our owners are AXA and Predica/Crédit Agricole, and Christian Kern has been our CEO since September 2022.
“Rail is one of the most fascinating and at the same time most complex business models. We make it simple for our customers. Our claim is the maximum availability of our locomotives, the most modern technological platform and the best possible service. We are driven by outstanding efficiency and the desire to provide the cleanest locomotive fleet in Europe.” (Christian Kern)
Railroad operations are extremely capital-intensive. Thanks to our financial strength and our strong owners, we are able to invest in larger volumes and can pass on this advantage of economies of scale to our leasing customers. They benefit from maximum flexibility and a Europe-wide service network, ensuring the best availability of locomotives
We currently have branches in Vienna, Gräfelfing near Munich and Poznań in Poland. We have an experienced and professional team that is passionate about making rail the means of transportation of choice. Thanks to our optimized company structure and our lean management, we are quick to react and can respond flexibly to customer and market requirements. We strive for long-term partnerships and customer relationships. As the largest supplier of Siemens Vectron locomotives, we have the most environmentally friendly fleet with state-of-the-art energy efficiency.
