Our Vectron Fleet
The Siemens Vectron is a state-of-the-art and modular platform for locomotives with a wide range of tasks. ELL relies exclusively on Vectron, because this specialization guarantees our customers the highest quality of service.
The majority of our locomotives are multisystem-capable, operating on both direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC). For special applications, we also have Dual Mode systems that can be operated both electrically and with diesel.
All our locomotives are characterized by maximum energy efficiency, making them economical and environmentally friendly.
The modular construction also ensures the necessary flexibility in the used train safety systems. In addition to ETCS, the locomotives can be equipped with all the necessary national standards and are therefore ready for any cross-border operation.
Our Vectron fleet in detail:
Train Control Systems
Vectron MS (Multisystem)
The MV can be used in AC and DC grids, thus offering maximum flexibility for cross-border transportation. It has current collectors for direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC).
MS A10: D-A-H-SK-CZ-PL-NL-RO-BG
MS A17: D-A-PL-CZ-SK-H-RO-SL-HR-BG
Vectron AC
This variant is designed for AC systems. It offers high performance with a maximum output of 5.6 to 6.4 MW and reaches speeds of up to 200 km/h.
Vectron DM (Dual Mode)
The dual-power locomotive (dual mode) operates with 15 kV alternating voltage and has a diesel engine with 2000 kW power at the wheel, a top speed of 160 km/h and a maximum axle load of 22.5 tons. Due to non-electrified tracks (often in terminal/port areas, also known as the ‘last mile’), not all traffic can be handled with electric locomotives. Hybrid locomotives help to ensure that rail is an alternative to road even under adverse conditions and thus make an important contribution to the transport transition.
AC Smartron
The Smartron locomotives are based on the Vectron AC with medium power and are configured for use in one specific country only. They use alternating current under overhead lines with voltages of 15 kV (16.7 Hz) or 25 kV (50 Hz) and reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.
